Putting In

Having canoed a couple overnight trips on the Kickapoo River once upon a time, I assumed I knew what “put in” meant.  Now that I’ve read posts on Dal’s blog, I’ve learned that it means the exact opposite to a pilot.  And since a pilot wrote the poem….
